Bryan K. Duffield
Owner / Funeral Director
Bryan is a 5th generation Coloma native. After graduating from Cincinnati College of Mortuary Science in 1985, he met and eventually married Tara (Toth), his wife of 30 years. They reside in Coloma with their two daughters, Kendyl and Madyson.
Bryan and Tara also own and operate Duffield’s Cottages on Little Paw Paw Lake in Coloma.
His 35 years of experience as an area licensed funeral director makes him an invaluable asset. Families have come to rely on his years of experience and broad expertise in the many aspects of funeral service.

Michael S. Pastrick

Mike has over 38 years in funeral service. His initial work experience provided him with an extensive background in all aspects of funeral preplanning. While continuing his work in that field, he decided to go through mortuary school and become a licensed funeral director. Eventually he and his business partner Bryan Duffield teamed up to start their own business which they opened in 2007.
Mike has two children, Nathan and Michelle, and resides in St. Joseph. He is a graduate of Western Michigan University and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.

Mike has over 38 years in funeral service. His initial work experience provided him with an extensive background in all aspects of funeral preplanning. While continuing his work in that field, he decided to go through mortuary school and become a licensed funeral director. Eventually he and his business partner Bryan Duffield teamed up to start their own business which they opened in 2007.

She and her husband Nathan reside in Coloma and they have two kids, Everly and Kayde. With her recent experiences and new ideas she has been a great asset to our family owned business and ever changing industry.

She and her husband Nathan reside in Coloma and they have two kids, Everly and Kayde. With her recent experiences and new ideas she has been a great asset to our family owned business and ever changing industry.
Tom and Merry Yops

Tom and Merry, live on Paw Paw Lake and have been married for 48 years. They have three sons Tom, Chad and Matt. Tom retired from the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department in 2003 after 36 years of service. During his law enforcement career he also worked for Coloma Township Police Department, St Joseph Township Police Department, including 15 years on the Berrien County Sheriff’s Department Swat Team. Merry worked for the Berrien County Health Department prior to retiring from law offices of Straub, Seaman and Allen in 2014. Tom and Merry are also members of the Coloma American Legion Post 362 and life members of FOP 96 in St Joseph. When not working at the funeral home, they enjoy golfing and spending time on the lake with family.

He and his wife Shelley live in Watervliet and love spending their time enjoying the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing! Mike is a past president of Coloma FOP Lodge 147 and remains very involved with the lodge and their weekly dinners. He is one of our go to guys and is involved in a wide variety of job duties at the funeral home.

Tyler graduated from Coloma High School in 2020 and is currently attending Lake Michigan College and Sienna Heights to obtain his Bachelors Degree in business and finance. He is an active member at Salem Lutheran Church and the Coloma Lions Club. He enjoys leading Salem’s Youth Group and walking his dog, Bentley. With Tyler’s flexible school schedule, he has been a great asset working with families during visitations and services, as well as maintaining our audio/video equipment.

Allison is also the daughter of Keith and Grace. She is the person who takes pride in always keeping the place looking and smelling fresh. Allison and her husband Rob reside in Coloma. Together they raise foster puppies for Paws with a Cause, which provide assistance dogs for people with disabilities. In addition to working at the funeral home Allison is employed by the Berrien County Health Department as an RN. She also is a member of Salem Lutheran Church and an active member of the Coloma FOP #147.

Dan is from Niles, which is where he grew up. In addition to working here he is a full time Police Officer with Coloma Township, prior to which he spent five years with the Benton Harbor Police Department. Dan has only been with us since January 2011 but is already interested in pursuing a career as a funeral director after he retires from law enforcement. He landed on our doorstep asking to volunteer for credit in a community oriented college course he was taking. Its surprising where things will lead sometimes. Dan also spends a lot of his free time volunteering at various Coloma events and at Crystal Springs United Methodist Camp in Dowagiac.

Caroll Brinkley

Caroll and his wife Audrey reside between Stevensville and Florida. On August 1, 1998 he retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for Benton Harbor. Following retirement he worked for Florin Funeral Service until joining us in June of 2007. Caroll is best described as our Jack of All Trades. Its nearly impossible for even us to predict which task he will be doing from one day to the next. Caroll is also a Vietnam veteran of the U.S. Army.

When not working at the funeral home or preparing the trailer for a trip, Keith can be found around the area doing odd jobs and Grace volunteering at Watervliet Community Hospital.

Seger was the therapy dog for the last 10 years and was the best at his job. During the day he would eagerly await for the first delivery driver to grace his presence with a treat. He's been known to go over the hill and meet them at the bank if he felt they might be passing him by. During visitations and services he would seek out any young person hoping he could persuade them into kicking the soccer ball for him. When not at the funeral home, he would volunteer with the local 4H program, visit nursing home and hospice facilities, chase golf balls in the lake for hours or simply snooze in the sun. He is truly missed!
